Traffic Operation Nets 72 Citations

The Las Cruces Police Department’s Traffic Unit issued 72 citations during a one-hour enforcement operation Thursday morning along Solano Drive.

Of the 72 traffic citations, 21 were issued to motorists who exceeded the posted speed limit, 21 to drivers operating a motor vehicle without proper registration and nine for driving without proof of insurance.

Other citations issued during the operation included:

• 8 for no driver’s license
• 7 for using a cell phone while driving
• 3 for not wearing a seatbelt
• 3 for miscellaneous traffic infractions

The traffic enforcement operation, held along north Solano Drive, began at 8 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 2025, and lasted about one hour. Similar traffic enforcement operations will likely be held in the coming weeks.
