Las Cruces Public Art in partnership with Las Cruces Museums is looking for artists to participate in the 2026 Chalk Walk street art exhibit. Chalk Walk takes place on Saturday, March 14 from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. in the museums courtyard at 491 N. Main St.
WHAT TO EXPECT
- Participating artists will create an art work on a 6’x6′ pavement square in the museum courtyard.
- Art supplies are provided for each artist.
- Pavement areas are shaded.
- Lunch and snacks will be served.
- Each artist will receive a $200 honorarium.
- Added bonus: Cash prize for winner of Best of Show competition courtesy of the Foundation for Las Cruces Museums.
- Public is invited to participate in free activities for all ages from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the courtyard during the Chalk Walk event.
HOW TO APPLY
- Please complete the 2026 Chalk Walk Artist Application.
- Must attend a mandatory pre-event meeting on Friday, March 6, from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.
- Artwork must be completed by 4:30 p.m. on day of event.
- Artists must agree to abide by the rules and regulations established by the event organizers.
- Must be 18 years or older to apply.
- Deadline to apply is Saturday, February 21.
