Biography

John P. Muñoz is a seasoned operations executive and entrepreneur with a distinguished track record of leading large-scale teams and managing complex, multimillion-dollar budgets across diverse regions of the United States. With experience overseeing tens of thousands of employees, John has earned widespread recognition for his visionary leadership and deep commitment to community engagement. His contributions have been honored by numerous nonprofit organizations, publications, chambers of commerce, and economic development groups across multiple states.
Currently, John serves as President and CEO of Main Street Las Cruces, formerly known as the Downtown Las Cruces Partnership. Under his leadership, the organization has gained national attention, with features in CNN and USA Today.
A dynamic public speaker and passionate community advocate John has delivered commencement addresses for the New America School and the Las Cruces Independent School District and has emceed a wide array of professional and civic events. He is a Board Member of the Greater Las Cruces Chamber and past president of the Las Cruces Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
He represented the local chamber during an official visit to the Camera di Commercio Industria Artigianato e Agricoltura di Sassari, a regional chamber in Italy. His achievements have been spotlighted multiple times—across languages—on the covers of Ser Empresario magazine and The Sitel Globe and other publications. John has been active in various nonprofits such as Jardin de los Niños, KRWG Public Media and Rock the Runway for Autism.
Professionally, John held executive leadership roles at Electronic Caregiver (ECG), a privately held healthcare technology firm based in Las Cruces. ECG was twice recognized by Inc. magazine as one of the fastest-growing companies in the U.S. During his tenure, John served as both Chief Experience Officer and Chief Relations Officer, playing a pivotal role in shaping the company’s strategic direction and stakeholder engagement.
John is fluent in English, Spanish, and Italian. He is married to Lia, who speaks five languages, and their son, Stefano, speaks six.
