Police Continue Investigation into Young Park Shooting

Friday Shooting Kills 3, Injures 14

Police are continuing to investigate Friday night’s shooting at Young Park that killed three and injured 14 others.

The shooting occurred about 10 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2025, at Young Park, 850 S. Walnut St., in Las Cruces, N.M.

The deceased are two 19-year-old men and one 16-year-old boy. Names of the deceased and those who were injured will not be released at this time.

The injured range in age from 16 years to 36 years.

At this time, police have not made any arrests for this incident but are actively following multiple leads.

Investigators are asking for video of any part of Friday’s shooting to be uploaded to a secure site.

Las Cruces police is receiving assistance on this investigation from the FBI, ATF, New Mexico State Police and the Dona Ana County Sheriff’s Office.

Young Park and all roadways leading to the park are temporarily closed while investigators conduct their work.

In the wake of Friday’s tragic mass-shooting at Young Park, the City is teaming with the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico who has put together a Crisis Action Fund to help victims with the necessary expenses.
