A fire damaged a mobile home and resulted in the death of one person on Friday evening.
Just before 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, Las Cruces firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire on the 3300 block of Conlee Lane. Crews arrived to find fire with high heat and no visibility in the mobile home.
Firefighters were able to remove the victim and bring the fire under control within 20 minutes of arrival. The fire was contained to one unit.
The victim was pronounced dead on scene. One firefighter sustained a minor burn to the hand.
The cause of the fire and damage estimates are still under investigation.
