Las Cruces Public Libraries invites residents to participate in Do-It-Yourself Picking Pads. This program will meet starting at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 in the Craft Room.

A picking pad is a wonderful sensory toy to satisfy the habits some people with various forms of anxiety have to pick, scratch or pull your skin, hair, and nails to self-soothe. They’re usually made from silicone or slime and are filled with small to tiny beads, gems, trinkets and more to pick at and remove. You can use your fingers or various tools to pick and dig them out.

Whether you have anxiety or just like unique DIY crafts, come and join us in making your own picking pad. All materials will be provided! Thomas Branigan Memorial Library is located at 200 E. Picacho Ave. on Roadrunner Transit route 1.

This document can be available in alternative formats by calling (575) 528-4102/TTY 711. If you require accommodation for a disability to participate in this event, call the library at (575) 528-4102/TTY 711 at least 48 hours in advance.

For information, contact Chandra Reed, Librarian I, at 575-541-2393 or by email at creed@clcstaging.lascruces.gov.
