Blake Davenport

The City of Las Cruces Airport Manager, Andy Hume, has announced his retirement. We thank Andy for his dedicated time and service to the City of Las Cruces in various departments from Community Development to Economic Development and most recently with the Airport. We wish him all the best in this next step!

Effective January 1, 2026, Blake Davenport will serve as the Interim Airport Manager. Blake has been with the City as the Risk Manager since May and brings over 21 years of experience in the aviation industry and management. Prior to his role as the City’s Risk Manager, Blake served as the insurance broker for several key regional airports, including El Paso International, Lubbock, Amarillo, and Dona Ana County Jetport.  He holds an Airframe and Powerplant License. Blake began his professional career with Delta Airlines in the maintenance department, advancing to serve in various positions with Delta’s maintenance and insurance divisions.  He also worked as an aviation consultant for Lloyd’s of London specializing in aviation underwriting and claims management for Part 121 and 135 air carriers and airport operations.  His educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Management of Technical Operations from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a Master of Science in Risk Management from Florida State University.
