Public Invited to Dedication of New Mural

Las Cruces Public Art and the City Art Board invite the community to the dedication ceremony of a new public art mural located at the Youth Development and Diversion (YDD) facility. The ceremony will be held from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 814 N. Tornillo Street., in the YDD parking lot where the mural is installed.

The mural project was led by artist Jesus “Cimi” Alvarado and made possible through the City’s Public Art Program. This colorful piece was created with participation from over 70 members of the community. The design, chosen with input from public input events in the neighborhood and the City Art Board, reflects themes of growth, transformation, and creativity.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet Mr. Alvarado and those that participated in the creation of the mural. Light refreshments will be served.
