City Council met in a regular meeting Tuesday, June 16, 2025, and approved purchasing agreements along with various zoning changes related to the Sonoma Ranch North master plan.

The purchasing agreements approved are for an amount not to exceed $200,000 for work uniforms, shoes and related items with Bazaar Uniforms and Men’s Store of El Paso. The contract is good through October 2029. Several departments within the City provide work uniforms for their employees. This agreement helps cover those expenses.

Councilors also approved an amendment to the City’s contract with Lawrence J. Horan for legislative lobbying services. The amendment, approved by a majority vote Monday, runs through Nov. 4, 2026, and will not exceed $120,000.

Horan helps the City lobby and secure capital outlay appropriations and legislative policy before and during legislative sessions.

In other business, Councilors approved various zoning changes related to property in the Sonoma Ranch North Master Plan. The zoning changes cover 5.75 acres of property on the east side of Sonoma Ranch Boulevard and north of the arroyo that parallels Pegasus Drive.

Under the new changes, two acres will remain open for flood control and recreational uses; 2.75 acres along Sonoma Ranch Boulevard will be available for a blend of commercial, office and apartment-style housing; and about one acre will be developed with medium to high density single-family housing.

Monday’s Council meeting, along with all other Council meetings and work sessions, can be viewed on the City’s YouTube channel.

City Council will next meet in a work session at 1 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2025, at City Hall, 700 N. Main St.
