Las Cruces Senior Programs is hosting an Abuse in Later Life Awareness Health Fair, an event to help raise awareness about elder abuse, on Friday, June 6, at Munson Senior Center.

The Abuse in Later Life Awareness Health Fair is free and will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2025, at Munson Senior Center, 975 S. Mesquite St. The health fair will feature a variety of community partners providing information and resources to help prevent elder abuse.

June is Elder Abuse Awareness Month, a time to shed light on the abuse and neglect that elderly and vulnerable adults face.

Because of the fair most Senior Recreation programs, activities and classes regularly held at Munson will be canceled for the day. The Enhanced Fitness Class at 8 a.m. and the Line Dancing Class at 2 p.m. will continue as scheduled. No other services as Munson Center will be affected. All activities will resume their regular schedule on Monday, June 9, 2025.

For more information contact Chris Behrens, Recreation Facility Manager at the Munson Center, at (575) 528-3000, TTY 711, or by email at cbehrens@clcstaging.lascruces.gov.

Those who require special accommodations for a disability to participate in this event are encouraged to call the Munson Center at least 48 hours in advance.
