Waiting for the Bus

Watercolor painting of a frog sitting next to a bus stop sign with a dragonfly above.

Title: Waiting for the Bus

Artist: Crystal Evans

Future Bus Shelter Location: Walnut St @ Lohman Ave (Pending installation)

Description: Waiting for the Bus is an original watercolor painting of a spadefoot toad waiting at a bus stop with a brown paper bag full of groceries. Overhead, a dragonfly whizzes by, carrying a handbag and wearing a hat. This painting was inspired by the hustle and bustle of the bus stops in Las Cruces. I chose a few animals “on the go” to represent some locals enjoying a nice day, waiting for their public transportation. This painting feels cheerful and lively, a pleasant view for people passing by to enjoy.
