Library Cards

With a library card, you can borrow books, movies, audiobooks, and more. To obtain a library card, apply in person at any of the Circulation desks. Adults must present a government issued photo ID along with proof of a current address in New Mexico. For children and teens 15 years and under, a library card will only be issued with a parent or legal guardian present to sign the child’s application for a library card.  Individuals living outside New Mexico but are working or attending school in New Mexico must present a government issued photo ID, proof of current address, and proof of employment or educational enrollment.

For more information or to renew your existing library card, visit the Circulation department in person or call 575-528-4000.

Responsibility of Cardholders

Cardholders are responsible for any materials checked out on their library card. Failure to return library materials is a serious matter and can result in library privileges being suspended or referral to a collection agency.

Fees

The first replacement of a lost card is free. All replacement cards after that will be charged a $1 fee. Please inform the library staff if a card is lost or stolen or if an address or telephone number has changed.
