Description: I Saw It First depicts a roadrunner who has captured a lizard for dinner but needs to outrun his buddies who want a piece of the meal. The acrylic painting on canvas features roadrunners (the NM state bird), prickly pear cactus, yuccas (the NM state flower), and the iconic Organ Mountains.

Artist Statement: As a native Las Crucen, I enjoy painting desert subject matter including the Organ Mountains, hummingbirds and cacti.
