NOW AVAILABLE !
Residents, business, or groups of Las Cruces will be able to adopt a park or trail. With “Adopt-a Spot” you can get recognition as you maintain and beautify your own community spot.
Adopting is Easy!
Who: Any individual, organized group, or business may participate in the Adopt-a-Spot Program.
What: Adopt-a-Spot is a volunteer-based program for interested citizens to show their pride and support for their community in helping maintain the cleanliness and safety of city parks and trails.
Why: To encourage residents and businesses in our community to initiate beautification and litter prevention projects in neighborhoods to ensure a better quality of life.
When: A minimum once a month cleanup of the entire adopted “spot” designated by the participating individual or organization. The individual or group is required to adopt for a one-year period. “Adopters” shall be required to pick-up litter if the appearance of the adopted section becomes objectionable. If Adopter desires to renew this agreement for the following year, written notification should be submitted to the KLCB Coordinator by the termination date of the current agreement year.
Where: Adopt-a-Spot locations are city parks and trails. For a list of available locations please contact the KLCB coordinator at KLCB@clcstaging.lascruces.gov.
How: Complete and return the Adopt-a-Spot agreement to the KLCB coordinator.
Keep Las Cruces Beautiful will:
• Publicly recognize each Adopting individual or group by way of an attractive sign installed within your adoptive “spot.”
• Provide garbage bags and other available supplies, as needed.
Is it vandalism or is it art? Graffiti, by definition, is committed without permission on another person’s property, in an adolescent display of entitlement. Whether particular viewers find any given piece of graffiti artistically compelling is irrelevant.
The City of Las Cruces defines graffiti; Graffiti vandalism consists of intentionally and maliciously defacing any real or personal property of another with graffiti or other inscribed material without the consent or reasonable ground to believe that there is consent of the property owner. A violation of this ordinance may be punished by a fine not to exceed $500 or by imprisonment for a term not to exceed 90 days, or by both.
Report Graffiti
Ask Las Cruces is a non-emergency system to find information about services or report problems like graffiti or street damage. The system connects community members with their municipal government.
Ask Las Cruces works best on devices such as smartphones if you use the Ask Las Cruces App instead of trying to access the program through a browser on your smartphone. Try the Ask Las Cruces mobile app:
